John - Your podcast has taught me so much about “The River” (stealing Nate Silver’s new term). It’s must listen every time a new episode drops. I’ve turned a few folks onto it also, but I’m sure scaling it to where it needs to be is tough. Just know that I have appreciated you very much whatever you decide.
Found the pod after the Value Traps episode was highlighted in the Moontower Meta episode. Have subsequently binged most of the back catalog. Even scored a first edition of Magriel’s Backgammon a few weeks ago after listening to Before the Boom and have been enjoying the bg rabbithole.
Point being.. this show is so good! Guest, story, editing… bangers. It’s left an impact.
Having also booted up a handful of side projects over the years mostly to prove to myself I could build x, I feel this crossroads you’re at.
Whether it’s the pod or something else, free or paid, I’ll be there.
I am one of the people who discovered your podcast (Movers episode) and proceeded to listen to every episode. Love the approach and look forward to anytime an episode drops. It has opened my perspective from being a sports bettor to thinking of AP anyway I can. Best of luck in whatever you decide and whatever your future entails.
Huge fan of the pod John. As a fellow independent, smallish podcaster (and former poker pro) I have often marveled at the level of production, in addition to just enjoying the stories. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
I love your show and have listened to every ep, but Id imagine its hard to grow that big with niche (but great!) content. The ploppies just want someone to tell them cold showers are the key, and give picks for tonights game.
Dude. I so look forward to new drops of your show. The guests you've had are amazing, and the podcast quality is top-notch. I'm deep in the credit card churning community, and the day I saw that you had Matt from MEAB as a guest, I just about lost it. It's sad to hear that you're re-considering the podcast, but it's totally understandable given other priorities you may have. Regardless, know that I'll occasionally listen to the back catalog and enjoy every minute. Thanks for the work you've put into creating such an enjoyable, entertaining, and eye-opening podcast.
Thank you. Perhaps as a testament to the serendipitous nature of this show - when I got Matt to come on I recognized that his writing was just AP for credit cards. But I had no idea how big his blog was in the advanced churning community. Just got lucky.
I was afraid this would be the outcome, but also not surprised as I see it from your perspective. I echo previous commenters who find huge value in this pod. As APs/EV enjoyoors/gamblers/risk takers, we know that edges will also be there and only be exploited by the minority who put in the work, who probe. In a way it feels the same with this pod. It will only be found and appreciate but the same kind of people who have that level of curiousity and empirical mindset. Thanks for what you do, John!
I am saddened to hear that you’ve potentially reach of your pod journey. RoR is one of my favorite podcasts. From production value and content. It’s outstanding.
My wife, who cares very little about gambling and sports LOVED greetings from LV.
We don’t have a lot of overlap in podcast interest but she liked it so much - I’ve gone back and relistened to a lot of the catalog with her.
We need to write a pitch for Greetings for a HBO series. I actually could put it in front of people
Anyways - this is small consolation because all I’ve to offer is a couple clicks. But, you’re awesome at this.
Thank you for the nice words. Yes, I kind of always structured the episodes as if they could be a pilot for some kind of streaming show about that topic. But it's still a big distance between an idea and executing it. FWIW, there is a series on Max right now that is made of some AP stories. It is called Hustlers Gamblers Crooks I think.

Thank you. It's always so nice to hear from listeners who have found value in the show.
Valuable information AND highly entertaining! Which is so hard to find. 🤜🤛
I had no idea about your podcast so perhaps I will be 12,001.
Good luck.
